Welcome to the Swiss Shooting Museum! This is one of the few sporting history museums in Switzerland and conserves and documents the cultural heritage of a decidedly living tradition. Shooting is one of the favourite sports of this country, along with football, tennis and skiing. Both as a broad-based and top-level sport, shooting at targets is no longer a purely male preserve. Girls take young shooters’ training courses, and women celebrate great successes in international and Olympic competitions. Shooting culture is closely connected with Swiss history and politics. Technical innovation, traditional craftsmanship and customs characterise the shooting movement in Switzerland, right through to today.
