Museum of Communication

The Museum of Communication is unique in that it is the only museum in Switzerland that focuses solely on the subject of communication. Also, its contents are put across to its visitors in an unusually light-hearted manner using interactive and playful elements. With its new overview exhibition on the subject of communication the museum will open up a new world of experience on 19th August 2017.

Communication brings people together - and even in a museum context it does not gather dust. The Museum of Communication in Bern has always centred on communication in its various facets. The extensive collections of the museum, from the stagecoach to the first Swiss computer to future means of communication cannot be seen in isolation but recount stories of developments, breakdowns and visions of the future. What does communication do to us? And what do we do to it? This is where visitors become experts who bring their own everyday knowledge of communication and this can be broadened at the museum. With its unexpected installations and entertaining games for visitors, the museum makes communication a tangible and liveable adventure.
