Institute of Design and Technology Bern and Biel

The Institute of Design and Technology Bern and Biel is the prominent centre of expertise in design that enjoys national repute. High-quality design in all of its facets is taught at this state institution and communicated to the general public. The staff to which this remit has been entrusted arranges 6 to 8 non-commercial exhibitions per year which are directed at interested members of public, professionals in the field and students. An ensuing correlation between the training and educational courses offered at the school and the manifestations of design is the intention here. The students in particular have the opportunity to get to grips with the visualised forms shown at the school – thereby fulfilling one pedagogical objective. Included are current fields and those with future application from the decorative arts, product design, photography, graphic design and art.
