




SBB Historic Library/Collections: a train journey into the past
All about the Swiss Federal Railways: information awaits railway enthusiasts and fans of history in SBB Historic’s library and collections. SBB Historic is a foundation set up by the SBB in 2001. Its aim is to preserve historical records of the Swiss railways.The professional library in the SBB Historic resource centre near Berne central railway station contains at least 25,000 volumes and some 300 specialised periodicals. The archive houses a big collection of timetables, over 350,000 pictures, 1,000 posters and several hundred films and videos. Apart from all SBB historical records since its inception in 1902, it also holds documentation about the earlier railway companies.But the SBB Historic library is more than an archive.
